Day 064: Lack of focus…
Mar 04 2008I apologize for my complete lack of focus lately. I have not been feeling well… nothing too exciting just always feel like I am on the verge of being sick. Anyway that is just excuse and I have been full of excuses. The nice thing about having a weight loss blog is you’ve basically told everyone that you are trying to do and when you seemingly drop off the face of the earth people start asking questions.
I want to quickly take stock of where I am at:
Diet: Breakfast, Lunch, and Snacks are good during the week. Dinners are a bit hit or miss. On the weekends my diet is all over the place. So my goals are to start having healthier dinners and reign in the weekends a bit.
Exercise: Not much I can say here I am on again off again with the weight training. I just need to find some consistency. Also the weather has been warmer here so I need to make sure, when I have the time, to get out hiking and paddling.
I signed up on StickK.com it’s basically a site for declaring and reporting your goals. They also offer the option for you to “gamble” on your goals. You put up some money and if you fail to meet your goal the money goes to charity. I am not sure if I will use StickK.com or not since I have this blog, but I am thinking I might place a little public wager. If I win I get to keep the money. If I lose I donate it to the charity voted upon by whomever reads this blog (Brian…?).
I need to think a little more about how this will work.

get back on that horse jeremy! you know what works for you & what doesn’t - avoid what doesn’t & jump all over what does. have you thought about joining a training group? many days when i don’t feel like working out i go because i’ve got a group or someone else expecting me - a workout partner(s) are invaluable for helping you stay on track & motivated.
as for a charity - what got me started was the leukemia & lymphoma society. it’s a great organization & helps so many people. not to mention their team-in-training program - this may be perfect for you! also high on my list are the susan komen foundation, the walter payton foundation, & the lance armstrong foundation. each of these groups help fight cancers & are also big supporters of so many race (healthy) activities!
I can totally relate to your struggles. I just posted today for the first time in awhile. Time to get back on the weight loss train!
Hi Jeremy, I just found your blogs today and have enjoyed catching up. I, too, live in Texas (close to Waco) and I travel quite a bit around the state for work. I’m in Austin often. I’m also on a weight loss journey this year, so reading your blog is inspiring to me. wishing you success!
