You might have noticed that there is something new in the sidebar. It’s an application we’ve been building on at work and now we are testing. When you click the “Record a Message” button it gives you a screen where you enter in you phone number and a short title for the message. After entering the information click the “Start Call” button. A short time later (30 seconds to 1 minute) you will receive a phone call at the number you entered. Leave your message and once I moderate it it will be displayed on the site. Everyone who visits the site will be able listen to what you have recorded so keep the subject of your message appropriate for all.

…. so how do you like the new look? It’s a work in progress. I’ve kinda been in a theme rut. I have been using Kubrick at lot which is default wordpress theme. On my other blog A Yankee in Texas I modified the Kubrick header to look like a Texas flag and called it good.

This template is called Freshy and while I don’t 100% love it I do think it have a lot of potential. Luckily I have the skills (hopefully) to fix the things I don’t like. So there will be changes. So far the only change I have made is to the date block. It was originally on the right hand side and it listed the day first and month second. I reordered them and changed the month to a 3 letter textual representation instead of numeric.

Anyway like I said it’s a work in progress and there will be more tweaks coming in the near future.
