Days 47 & 48: Weekend Update….
Feb 18 2008Well some how I managed to lose some weight this weekend. I ate pretty poorly although I did try using some restraint while eating out. However we were active most of the weekend. Saturday we spent learning to shoot pistols. Sunday we went to the Barton Creek Greenbelt and walked for about 2 miles.
Which got me thinking that I have been spending a lot of time focusing on diet, but very little on exercise. For a guy my size I think this is a critical error. If I watch what I eat but don’t exercise and I make one mistake it derails me. If I eat just a little bit less or the same as what I was eating before and I exercise I will lose weight. You can always make up a missed gym session, but you can’t take back something you’ve already ate.
That being said the ultimate goal is to have both a good diet and a good exercise regime. For the next 4-6 weeks I am going to exercise 5-6 days a week and maintain my current diet. Currently I have a few different meals I bring for lunch and snacks, but dinner is kind of whatever is made for me. And weekends tends to be a free for all. I will use some more restraint on the weekends, but my focus is going to be on being active.
Let’s see where that gets me.
